A Day in the Life Each day starts with a 15-minute huddle to discuss the important items for the day such as major ongoing issues, project deadlines, off hours service that was perform, daily metrics, etc.
A call comes in from an end user that has problems logging into their system so you reset their password and make sure they can access their system.
You work to clean up an infected computer by running numerous scanning programs but may ultimately end up reloading the system after a full back up is taken.
An end user is having a problem with a piece of software they use and you determine it must be reinstalled so you remote into their system and take care of this.
After reviewing some documentation on a specific client, you determine a better or more efficient way of doing something so you notify the Account Guru to make these changes.
We purchased a few new computers for a client and once you have these all prepared in our office, you take them onsite, set them up and verify they are working as expected.
Back at the office, you take a call and determine a client server is down.
You then collect as much information from the caller as possible and escalate the ticket up to Tier 2 support.

You Have:
First and foremost, the ability to always deliver great customer service and the desire to help others.
Great communication skills both verbal and written while being patient and calm in the face of chaos or frustrations The ability to explain complicated items in a way your grandmother can understand Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills and are good at logic puzzles At least two years working in the IT field or an equivalent Degree in the computer field and a strong understanding of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications A decent understanding of networking services and equipment such as TCP/IP, DNS, WiFi, Routers/Firewalls, Switches, etc.
Basic understanding of Network Domains, Active Directory and Security Software Would Also be Great if You Have:
At least an A
Certification.
If not, it will be required you receive this within the first 90 days.
The ability to type at 50

The Tier 1 Technician is the starting point for nearly all employees regardless of their ability to fully understand our systems and processes.
From here, the next position up is to a Tier 2 Technician which has different levels and responsibilities along with more onsite work and deeper interaction with our clients key personnel and equipment.
Beyond this level are Engineers who are the company top tier of support and are ultimately responsible for fixing issues no one else can.
