Manager, Facilities Management (Medxcel Facilities)

The Facilities Manager provides the highest level on-site leadership of a team that continuously maintains assigned facilities in an efficacious, safe, comfortable, and visually pleasing condition, using the methods, tools, support, and oversight provided by the Medxcel Facilities team.
This position holds primary responsibility for assuring that the quality of all Facility Services provided to the assigned Ministry are delivered in the highest quality manner possible.
The Facilities Manager is also responsible for all regulatory and accreditation compliance requirements related to the buildings, systems, and various codes.
Dealing with large and small unexpected emergencies is a routine part of this position's activities.
Requirements Education and Work Experienceo Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or management required (or equivalent experience)o Minimum 5 years' experience working in healthcare facilities management with Bachelor's degreeo Minimum 10 years' experience working in healthcare facilities management o Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) certification preferredo Other nationally recognized certification pertaining to Facilities Management acceptable as an alternative to the CHFMo Project management skills including coordination, communication, prioritization, troubleshooting, adherence to budget and completion goals, and recruiting resourceso Travel - 20% (some overnight required)ResponsibilitiesFacilities Management Support - 50%o Lead a group of supervisors and skilled technicians, and sometimes outside contractors, in the maintenance and repair of systems typically found in a hospital facility, including HVAC, refrigeration, electrical and electronic, and plumbing; in a manner that assures a high degree of reliability and safety.
o Maintain the professional public image and aesthetically pleasing appearance of the building(s) themselves.
o Coordinate maintenance and project work with department heads and medical personnel as required.
o Maintain records of completed planned and corrective maintenance tasks completed for the purposes of compliance and risk managemento Manage the purchase of supplies, replacement parts, etc.
in a productive and compliant manner.
o Oversee grounds maintenance, including lawn, parking lot, driveways, sidewalks, signage, lighting etc.
with special attention given to the front and emergency entrances / canopy areas.
o Maintain and routinely change flower gardens and other aesthetic features of the groundso Develop and execute snow removal plan as needed.
o Lead and oversee small construction and renovation projects and solicit / review bids for any subcontract work needed.
o Maintain the safe operation of the facility during projects of any size.
o Interview, select, train, and evaluate supervisory and other skilled department staffo Enforce safety and quality standards for the department.
o Maintain the professional appearance of all department spaces, regardless of their public exposure.
o Implement and maintain compliance with maintenance related policies and procedures of the companyo Responsible for any other duty that may be assigned from time to time and any other activities required to maintain the efficacious, safe, comfortable and visually pleasing use of the ministry's facility for the purposes of diagnosing and treating patients.
Financial Management - 20%o Prepare and use budgets as directedo Oversee service contracts and periodically evaluate the financial impact of bringing service in-house through training, tools, personnel additions or changes, etc.
o Manage the appropriate use of inventory management and purchasing tools.
o Oversee use of purchasing tools and compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures.
Compliance - 20%o Implement and/or maintain Medxcel's standard policies and procedures for accreditation and regulatory compliance.
o Ultimately responsible for the completion of all compliance-related PM, inspections, tests, and recordkeeping.
o Join and participate in safety and other relevant committees.
o Follow policies and procedures of Medxcel's regulatory and compliance support group.
o Assures that the Statement of Conditions is prepared and submitted timely.
Administrative - 10%o Schedule department personnel in manner that best meets ministry's and department's needs.
o Implement/manage Medxcel's Facility Management policies and procedures.
o Work in conjunction with ministry leadership or appropriate committee in the implementation of Medxcel's standard policies and procedures, especially where accreditation or regulatory requirements for the ministry are involved.
o Attend/participate in appropriate committee meetingsKnowledgeo The ability to effectively lead a team of supervisors and technical staffo A working knowledge of hospital mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systemso An understanding of basic financial reports and the ability to perform financial analysiso Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
